While I don't have a hybrid, I do have canvas as the telescoping part of my TC and I learned early on that it's imperative to dry it out either when you get back from a trip or before you close it up..
I'd agree with Dan, there is water damage you aren't seeing and a good inspection by a qualified RV tech in in order. If you know where to look and what to look for, it's easy but if you don't, better to have someone that knows where to look and foe what, do it.
