Nine Dying Diesel Fads

Let's be clear once again. This was 20 years ago before any of us knew what a DPF was and hot rodding options were fairly limited back then on an all mechanical pump. That truck only smoked when I wanted it to and for the record, I was and am still nothing like that jackwad. The level of obnoxiousness on a scale of 1-10 was a 12, possibly a 13. He was gang-banger material. I spent a couple of thousand dollars for that pump and the injectors to be re-worked and it came back boost compensated with even more power potential. The best I can do now is a faint haze. Now I'll agree that if you smoke bicyclists or pedestrians for no reason what so ever, or lay down smoke because it makes you feels good, then you could be labeled with any offensive term you desire, but the best and most appropriate thing to do at that moment IMHO was to encourage him to roll up his windows and possibly turn down his music. It worked, mission accomplished, no regrets.

My current project truck is compound turbo 3.9L Isuzu. With that truck I can lay down a cloud better than the first truck, but it cleans up really fast once the small turbo lights off and at 32+ lbs of boost, all I get is a light haze. However, it only smokes if I want it to and I avoid attracting attention 99.9% of time. My full throttle test/tuning runs are usually done at night so I don't attract too much attention.
