The Titan is probably the worst truck ever built. The list of problems is nearly endless.
I owned two of them. The first one lasted 9,000 miles, which Nissan bought back, the second one lasted 18,000 miles. Both trucks went through $12,000 in parts. Most of miles were put on driving back and forth to the dealer for repairs. The rear and front differentials are junk. The Rube Goldberg Dana 44 rear axle(modified for Nissan) is a disaster, it is way to small for towing truck.Nissan claims the 3:36 rear diff is equivalent to a 4:10 axle. It is not, it uses the tranny gears to lower the ratio, which causes problems with the tranny, which is why you have to lock out the higher gears when towing or you will over heat the tranny.
10's of thousands rear axle seals have blown out.The tow haul mode is useless and only works in the first 3 gears.
The front axle constantly pull out of the diff or the diff just just explodes.
Body control modules constantly fail. The radiator is junk. The brakes are useless and rotors warp consistently. The windows in the front doors are to large and heavy and constantly break the cheap plastic parts, so the windows fall to the bottom of the doors. The ABS units burn up because of Nissan's poorly designed traction control system, which uses the brakes as an LSD(The Tundra has the same system but it works). Then there are the numerous squeaks and rattles that when fixed, keep coming back.
The Titan is the only truck that broke down in my yard when no one was near it.
Several times I would look outside and see my windows going up and down.
Once at the dealer, the tech went to start the truck and the horn went off, the went up and down and the lights flashed, truck didn't start.
There is a reason why the monthly sales dropped by 80-90% after the first two years, they rarely sell over 1000/ month.
Nearly all the parts are same ones they use in their cars. The diff are the same ones used in the Frontier, way to small for a tow rig.
I could go on and on, but you get the idea.
Go to a Titan forum, the problems are still there. The diesel also has many, many problems.
