- Tyler0215ExplorerKeep winter air in all year. Your tires will run much cooler in the summer with cold winter air.
- brackleybeachExplorerIt's Ok to mix summer air with nitrogen but if you have winter air in the tires then you have to make sure it is all removed before adding nitrogen.
- Air mixes just fine with nitrogen. Actually air already has a bit of nitrogen in it.
- wanderingbobExplorer III would find another dealer , maybe ya otta tell him why . He probably read Donalds book about lies !
- darsbenExplorer IIAnd sometimes you get snookered.
- naturistNomadYou pay for what you get. Sometimes you get what you pay ffor.
- TrackrigExplorer IISo what happened to the old "you get what you pay for" saying???
If standard air is free and you have to pay for nitrogen, then it has to be better, right?

Can air be mixed w/nitrogen in tires. Dealer said NO. does anyone Know for sure?
Technically Dealer is correct.
Mixing 'air' with Nitrogen will result in the nitrogen being diluted into 'air'
Nitrogen is drier than air
Nitrogen will 'remain' in your tires longer due to larger molecule size
Now is Nitrogen worth the extra cost..........
Tire has to be purged several times to rid any air in order to have pure Nitrogen in tire.
Dealer charges for that 'special' treatment------then NO
If Dealer does it for free.......OK
BUT are you going to care Nitrogen Bottle to top off with OR try and find a dealer that has Nitrogen and doesn't charge for it?????
'Air' works just fine----use it. - 2oldmanExplorer II

Hey, if we get a "winterizing" question, we win the trifecta!
A nitrogen post, and a Walmart post in the same day. Wow. - TucsonJimExplorer II
