No 2 Tone Trucks

Looking at new trucks, and noticed that on Ford's and Ram's top of the line trim levels, Platinum and Laramie Limited, you can only get solid color trucks, no 2 tones. I would have thought that on the highest priced truck you sell, that you could get any option you wanted, including 2 tone paint. Wonder why they don't give you that option?
  • I would rather have them increase the body rust through warranty from 3 years to at least 8-10. VW gives you a no quibble 12 year.
  • I would think that anyone that can afford a $60,000+ truck would have no problem spending the extra two grand at the local body shop and have the truck painted any color they want.
  • Styling and customer tastes change over time. My personal choice is to get a 2 ton over a 2 tone. I drive my truck more than sit and look at it.
  • Only thing that I see with the limited that is not available with the longhorn is the black leather.
  • Yes, I am talking about the top of the lines now, the Ford Platinum and the Ram Limited. Neither can be had in 2 tone, but lower trim levels can. I like the 2 tone, but can't get it in the Platinum or Limited trim levels. Don't understand why you can't get an option on your top level truck.

It took me a bit of looking to find a non two toned one. But you and I don't have the top Ram model which is only available in monochrome I believe., the longhorn limited.

  • The King Ranch is available 2 tone when choosing the Monochromatic paint scheme. Top of the line Superduty is now the Platinum not King Ranch.
  • My 2011 Lariat I have two tone. Must have changed this for 2015.
  • That don't make sense, the King Ranch has always been 2 tone. They must have changed that for 2015 models. I have never bought a two tone color, but they should have that option for those who desire it.
