Yes, I was referring to the "F" series trucks.

Ford currently has an 84 day supply of F-150s sitting on the lots. Meridian estimates about four months to repair the facility.

Meridian, for their part, has stepped up to the plate and offered to pay their workers full paychecks and continue their medical benefits, if they volunteer to do community service work. Those who opt for unemployment will also continue to receive medical benefits.

That's good on Meridian.

As for the 84 day supply of F150's, How many of those are useless for anything but grocery getting? All F150's on the lots aren't useful for towing.

It will put more pressure on F250 sales.

Most F150’s do not tow...so no biggie in the grand scheme of things.

This plus increasing gas prices...Ford may want to rethink the whole canceling all cars but the Mustang thing.

the dies have been recovered and are on the way to a canadian facility

Guess I have to disagree with you. Even the N/A base engine V6 is rated for 5,000 lbs of towing. That's better than the majority of the crossovers on the market are rated for. I'd think any F-150 on the lot could handle my 21 foot tandem axle TT no sweat.

I'd say Ford has about 1-2 months before the pickens get real slim on the lots, but I'm pretty sure Ford will arrive at a solution for the part shortage by that time...speaking of:

Word is Meridian is moving the tooling for the parts production to a plant in Strathroy, Ontario. The IP support and an internal seat component are made by Meridian.

The article mentioned 30% of the fire damaged plant's output was for Ford. Looking at the post fire building photos, I potentially see a lot of 24/7 work for construction crews to repair the damage. The retired firefighter in me thinks there's some significant structural damage where the fire was concentrated.
