No TC's allowed

If it has the word 'resort' in the name, it's probably a good place to avoid.

There are places around like this - sort of snooty, nose in the air places that cater to a certain client. Probably also have rules about no rig older than 5 or 10 years, no children, etc. They have their place I suppose, but certainly not on my list of places to see or stay. And since my 5th wheel is over ten years old I probably wouldn't be allowed in anyway.:B

There's a resort a few hundred from me that only allows class A. It's in a very high brow neighborhood, so I guess they consider the A to be the high brow RV?

Hilton Head Island Motor Coach Resort doesn't even allow trailers.

Not my style and it is too pricey, c.travler.

The way I look at it Class A's can't go where I go, and I don't go camping on concrete slabs.

Rules and Regs

It sounds more like they don't want "camping" at their resort more than any attitude towards RV types. No campfires, but you can have a charcoal grill. No tents or RVs that "pee" water or outside shower tents, etc.

They do allow kids of all ages. Max 6 people per site.

They do allow dogs (no breed or size restriction, but limited to 2 per site).

No RV age restriction listed.

I don't see that as being snobby. Just differentiating themselves from a campground where it's about swimming and campfires and ATVs, etc.

What is an "RV Port site".? Don't think I've heard that term before.

We ran into a place like that once south of Grand Rapids, MI. We planned to visit the Ford Presidentlal Library site and wanted something not to far out of town. Found a resort on Hwy 131 and pulled in to the office. There was a sign on the door with a phone number to call so we called it. the lady that answered smugly stated that truck campers weren't accepted there before I could say anything more than "Hello" so she was obviously looking out a window somewhere watching us. So we sat there for a bit, looking at a map and looking on the internet to find another option, all the while enjoying the thought of the smug lady nervously watching us. Then we drove a few miles over to Yankee Springs Recreation Area where we found a nice, nearly empty campground on a lake. I was glad we'd been turned away from the first place!

maybe they bring a serving of port wine to your site each night, for a night cap?
