The Champion 3500/4000 generator is rated at 68 DB at 21 feet. It is not as quiet as the Honda or Yamaha inverter models, but your bank account won't suffer near as much with the Champion and neither will your ears. This is low enough on the scale to use in National Parks. Mine starts on the second pull. For those who don't want to have to go out and shut the unit down, all you have to do is buy a remote controlled switch and wire it in the engine kill switch wire on the generator. All you have to do is make sure the switch is open to start the unit when you are ready to run it again.
A word of caution to generator users. Check your owner's manual to see if your generator is one with a floating neutral line. If it has a floating neutral, you will want to make sure you have a simple ground wire to ground the unit if you use it in a vehicle and not directly on the ground. Otherwise, you could get a good jolt.
