Sounds like your trailer must ride fairly rough. I was going to suggest something that obviously won't work in yours. I travel with the cutting board/sink cover on the sofa but since your sofa also must have found it rough, may not help in your case. Anyplace in the REAR of your trailer will experience more bumps and dips and items placed near the tongue will have the smoothest ride.
