Any traveling I do in the mountains I stay with interstate as much as possible and avoid the secondary roads.
But the good mountain CGs are no where near the interstates. It just takes patience, and know how to get to them. And yes. Going up is a lot easier than coming down. When in doubt. Use 1st gear.
