Northstar Laredo SC

Do you have a Laredo SC? What do you like about it? What do you not like? What truck do you have it on? What cab configuration? What length truck bed?

  • Laredo's work really well at the Meadowlands viewing a Broncos Game.
  • I have a 2004 Laredo SC on a 2005 GMC 2500HD short bed. I've spent 260 nights in the camper so far and it works great for me.

I'll echo the others with respect to the factory support - the main reason I bought a Northstar.

On the coach itself - the cassette toilet and euro style windows are the two best features for me.
  • We don't have a Laredo rather an Igloo U but just the same the camper is perfect for us. Well built, u shaped dinette is perfect for lounging or eating, and the response from Rex is awesome. Always returns an e mail with any questions. Cassette toilet is the only way to go imho. Quick and easy to dump anywhere however like someone said wished it had a bathroom sink.
  • I owned a 2005 and sold it a couple years ago after the holding tank froze and needed more room for my kids. Gray water is exposed to the elements and the The biggest draw back is it is only a 3 season camper. The U shaped dinette is awesome and the uro windows. The cassette toilet seems to fill up way too fast and it is kind of a pain to dump. Also, no sink in bathroom which I like to have.
  • Ours is a 2003 on a 2004 2500HD. It is a great camper that is very well built. We have the cassette toilet and insulated windows and are very pleased with both.

A major plus with this or any Northstar product is the support available from the company. They make very good stuff but if support is needed they are there.
  • The cassette toilet, wouldn't be without that kind, so easy to use and dump.
  • Sometimes I lie in the bed and look around and wonder how everything can look so good and fit so well after being jostled around in the bed of my GMC 2500. I like its size, 7' wide. Has everything I need in it, only a little cramped when 2 are in it. ONe thing I don't like is the instructions for simple things are kind of vague, like how to winterize it. Another thing that irks me, is when winterizing, the water flows into the front of the bed of my truck. Seems like a breeding ground for mold and rust. I have the factory on speed dial, and have just called there for quick answers. Rex and Rory and staff are always very helpful. Buy one, there are lots of very happy users.
  • Hi,

I have a 2006 Northstar Laredo. It's mounted on a 2003 Ford F250, 4x4, with the 7.3. I use it mainly beach camping at Davis or Portsmouth Island.

I love the camper. It is well built and has a solid reputation. I keep mine in an insulated garage. My Northstar came with the Tundra fridge that operates with a compressor. I have a Keyocera solar panel and 2 AGM batteries.

This combination will outlast me. I put a total of 3500 miles on this combo the past two years.

Northstar owners can talk to the owners of the company with any questions regarding the operation of their camper. :)

    Hope this helps!
