Our 2004 duramax went to our son with 115K miles on it. It's now up to 260K miles, still on the original brake pads, still only uses 1qt of oil between changes, 7500 miles or so, a few maintenance repairs, but that's about it. Vehicles have gone a long way since the 60's when one was lucky to hit 100K before it was off to the junkyard.
I have a 1976 Ford and thank Heaven they don't build them like they used to.

I bought a 76 Ford Elite and ordered a 76 F250, dual tanks automatic and 390 engine. The Elite would jump in reverse from park and F250 kept blowing modulator valves . Swore I’d never buy another ford until, I ran through 70,s, 80’s, 90’s in dodges and Chevrolets. Had 4 super duty’s since 2002.
