Have 170,000 on my “03” 20 year old GMC truck. Same brake pads.
A few years back I was having new tires put on nd I asked my friend if I could walk out into the shop and check my brake pads while they had the wheels off.
He asked me how many miles I had on my truck and I told him just over 80,000.
He laughed and said, "Kenny, they will never wear out".
I didn't realize he was serious. LOL - FlatBrokeExplorer IIHave 170,000 on my “03” 20 year old GMC truck. Same brake pads.

How does one get a quarter million miles out of a set of brakes?
I bet the Flinstones have him beat on the breaks! :)
No salt and lots and lots of Interstate driving, I'd imagine. Just big loops down I-10, up I-5, across I-90, and back down I-75.
The majority of those miles are with an empty truck and on the highway.
Impressive but they are due. - Congrats... My parents had one of the first 6.0 powered HD Chevy's and it actually had cast iron heads.

Good thing it’s not a EV. Regenerative braking would not help Mr. spectra much! - mkirschNomad II

Not the most powerful HD gas, certainly not the most fuel efficient but even with just moderate care, they will last a very long time. Hopefully the 6.6 gas will turn out to be as awesome.
