Before you buy anything, go to the scales and weight the TT loaded.
Keeping the rpm down and getting the tyranny to shift up requires a lot of gas pedal work.
If you are cranking over 3000 rpm you gas mileage will stink.
I towed a 6000 lb. TT with a 200 horsepower V6, the best I could do was 62 mph on the flat. I had too much TT not enough TV.
If everything is okay with the TT and TV then it would appear that you do not have the horses pull the load.
