The OP has the Navigator "L", which has the 131" wheelbase, but that's not the issue here...as with all of these SUVs and 150/1500 trucks, it comes down to payload. An 8500 lb TT is going to add 1100+ lbs to the hitch that the Navi has to carry. It may or may be able to handle that depending on available cargo capacity and what else is in the Navi, but 9.9 times out of 10 the SUV will turn out to be overloaded when weighed. Reviews of the Navi talk about the comfy ride, but that also means lots of diving and body roll from the soft suspension, not exactly what you want when trying to control a trailer.
Obviously it's not impossible to ow this TT with a Navi, the OP has already done it and is still alive to post about it. But I agree with Lantley, move GVWR and a stiffer suspension will produce a much more comfortable towing experience. Hard to travel far and wide when you can't go over 50 mph.
