300HP a dog? ROTFLMAO. This was big block HP not too many years ago.
I towed the same weight boxy trailer with a 200HP engine for years and years. And this is out west in the mountains.
OP it won't matter if you had a 1000 HP. If you don't press the right peddle down as far as you need it won't go.
Keep this in mind: Not going fast enough? Press harder on the right peddle. Still not going fast enough? Press it harder until you get to the speed you want. And don't worry about the RPM. That engine will handle high RPM all day long.
