We hardly ever unhook for an overnight stop if the area is reasonably level. I do like to take a little weight off of the truck springs with the trail tongue jack if possible without throwing the trailer too much out of level front to rear. We don't find it necessary to unplug the trailer cord from our truck.
I do the same thing with my 5th. wheel. I lower the front jacks just enough to take some pressure off my 5th wheel hitch and still keep the trailer as level as possible.
