Fiat bought it lock stock and barrel , warts and all , was that wise move? .I don't think so, too much risk involved. They would have done due diligence and been well aware of outstanding recalls and work orders, and thought they were getting a bargain at taxpayers expense. Did they try to doctor it up & then unload (or merge) it on someone else before the $#it hit the fan? Maybe.. But it looks like they got left holding the bag..
