You tow up to 30,000# trailers with your 1 ton SRW truck? WOW, I AM impressed...I'd be over my trucks GCWR if I hooked up to a 30,000# trailer and GCWR on my truck is 37,500#...with a GVWR of 14,000#, I'd be over that also....For 30,000# trailers, believe I'd go the route of the OP and definitely use a HDT
