I have a switch on the dash to lock the diff,that said with 8400# on the steers and a narrow foot print soft ground is a no-no.
I camped this year on grass a few times but a dry clay soil is like concrete so we lucked out.Others have pointed out youtube videos of logging trucks in frame deep mud ,if there is a 'bottom' you maybe ok.
Mine was stuck this spring ,the fronts sunk a bit and the rears were in a frozen 'dish' shaped like the tires needed a friends F250 to pull it out even the locked rears didn't help.
