What is the dimension from the floor or threshold of the door opening to the opening where the stairs are stored. To me it looks like more than 7 1/2". It would take a good bit of engineering to make a 7 1/2" rise in that location.
Frame height is 8". Top of I-beam to threshold is 3" (approx.). The step assembly in the retracted position is 14" tall overall, making it hang 6" below the bottom flange of the I-beam.
The steps are adjustable so the the top step to door threshold is 5 1/2", 7 1/2" or 9 1/2".
With the steps adjusted to the 7 1/2" position and TT level, in order to make the treads level, these steps will work okay on our TT if a site slopes downhill at the entry stairs (rear of our TT) if the ground is more than 2 1/2" below level ground elevation to max. 5 1/2" below with landing gear legs fully. The landing gear legs extend max. 3".
But if the ground slopes uphill at the rear of the TT, the slope on the steps will be worse than shown in the above photo. Adjusting the top step to be 5 1/2" down from the threshold won't work for us as it makes the rear of the top step tight up against the exterior wall. This would only give another +2" above the ground and often the uphill slope of a site is much more than that.
Hope this makes sense. A drawing would make it clearer.
