I'm tempted to just build the van up a little more so I can stay a few days without needing to had back to the trailer. That'd allow me to take the van to the rough stuff, and use the trailer for more mellow stuff...
I have seen some nice conversion vans that you could live in for a few days. No reason you could not convert yours to one of them. A composting toilet and a outside shower and away you go.
