I been there and done that several years ago. I had/have the skills and equipment to straighten out the bracket and replace the bolts. As I recall, mine did not have self-locking nuts, they do now, and I did a major reinforcement on the bracket. I might still sheer the bolts, but I will not damage the bracket, and the nuts will not loosen.
About a year before the major issue, the nuts and bolts loosened. I just blamed it on my not tightening them adequately when I installed them. When I had the major failure, bolts were missing and a couple were loose. I did not see a speed bump, and that was when the bracket was damaged.
