oil change question

Most on BITOG do 5k OCI. The Ecoboost is somewhat harder on oil. The oil tends to shear down into the 20w range.
Also Castrol Magnatec 5w-30 has shown to be one of the best oils for that engine according to UOA over there as well.
I'm still debating on using 0w-40 Castrol in mine and doing some UOA to determine when to change oil. Otherwise I will use either Magnatec or Edge 5w-30 and do 5,000ish OCI.
Like others have said, switching around oil brands and weight(within reason) doesnt do any harm at all. But may throw off some readings if doing UOA.
