Now forced to use RED cap Ck rated DELO.
190k(mostly towing ) uses NO oil between changes. - lazydaysExplorerPlain ole Rotella and Ac Delco filters. I really put zero thought into it.

While not a Cummins my oldest truck a 99 Ford 7.3 has run Rotella T-4 15w40 for 255k miles, no engine blow by or smoking.
2003 Dodge/Cummins 305/555 HO with 320k miles on nothing but Retella 15w-40 dino oil with Fleetguard filters.
Blackstone say exceptional and keep doin' what your doin' - sidewayzzExplorerI run Valvoline premium blue 15-40. for oil i use fleetguard or mopar. for fuel i use Baldwin. I have a 06 as well. 198000 miles.
- srt20ExplorerValvoline, Rotella, Delo, Mobil, etc, will all serve you well. 5w-40 or 15w-40
Fleetguard, M1, Fram Ultra, etc filters will serve you well also. - garyp4951Explorer IIIRotella T4, and Fleetguard LF16035 StrataPore filter.

- ScottGNomadIt doesn't get crazy cold or hot here and since the Cummins will happily go 500~1M miles on Dino, that's what I use. I tried syn for a few changes but saw no difference in mileage or anything else. Since I can't take advantage of it, it's just a waste for me to use syn.
