During extended high RPM runs like towing long distances there may be some consumption. The dealer will say that it is normal. Synthetic oil will be less prone to this consumption loss.
Between figuring the filter media retentation, what escapes at the filter when removed and if you drain it with the truck level, the amount that collects in the skid plate, you come very close to your 2 qts.
I usually spill at least 1/2 qt filling the empty containers.
Go by the stick, add when needed, being careful to fully seat the stick to avoid overfilling.
