Agree as well. Not a Chevy, but the filter on my Ram 3500 holds a quart by itself. Is the engine warm and you are parked on level ground when you drain the pan? The engine could easily have a quart or so in it clinging to the parts in the heads and cylinder walls. Unless the dipstick is showing a drop in between oil changes, I would think you have no worries. When you start "making" oil on a diesel (injector failure) seems to be the big conern............
