DW wants to take her dad for a short trip to a local CG to get him out of the nursing home for a bit. He won't go unless he can lay down on the sofa and also be able to use the toilet (some older men have bladder issues) while we're travelling on the road. Our slide is only 18" deep and on the driver's side.

Read your owners manual! Slideouts are not likely designed to survive the stresses of transport while extended. Not a good idea I would say.

NO,NO,NO. You will be over width, hanging out over the center line, and off balance, side to side. Why would you even think this is a good idea?

Your rig, your prerogative.But you will be over width for most roads and therefore subject to fines.In addition should someone have an accident you could be in a bucket of hot soup.Lastly tell DW to say no to her DF demands. THINK ABOUT THEIR SAFETY>

I understand its April Fools Day.So you are posting this as a joke........CORRECT?Dealerships move RVs around on lot with slides openI have moved our 5th wheel with all three slide open....from one end of CG to other endBut in both cases..this is done at slow speedsBesides.....There are LAWS restricting the overall width of towed items.Is your wife planning on getting pilot truck and oversize permitGetting her DAD out for an outing is great.BUT if he can't do it sitting up in a vehicle using a seat belt best he not go.Got to tickle then pull over/stop and use trailer bathroomApril Fools......CORRECT??
