Old school setup
Saw this guy yesterday puttering along. He probably bought both the trailer and the car new. Looks like a mid to late 70's Buick. He seem to be under control well but never got over 70kph in an 80 zon...

YES YES YES! you are right. This is how EVERYONE used to do it and it worked fine.
And as I have pointed out before on this site my parents right after WWII pulled a trailer about that size from Michigan to California on Rt 66 with what I believe was a 1938 Ford Coupe.
The guy in the pic probably has more towing experience than all of the entire RV.net "Your Truck is too small...get a 1 ton" crowd put together.
