Old school setup

Saw this guy yesterday puttering along. He probably bought both the trailer and the car new. Looks like a mid to late 70's Buick. He seem to be under control well but never got over 70kph in an 80 zone. It held its speed up some fair hills too. Couldn't see how it was hitched.

455 big block Buick, torque monsters. 400TH 3 speed auto trans, no overdrive. 12 bolt rear axle. Air bags, or back in the day just plain old air shocks, would help level things out.

That TV is more capable than a lot of what I see hauling stuff down the road today.
  • Fun pictures...it brings back memories.
We use to have a similar setup.
I like the wind deflector on the tow vehicle...probably he is getting fantastic mileage.

  • I wouldn't want to do it, but it used to be much more common
  • Not trying to be disrespectful but did you have a point that I missed?
