Old Station Wagon Slide In.

I spotted this on my block when I got home today. I didn’t get to talk with the owner. Thirty years ago you used to see these car campers all over Colorado; this is the first one I’ve seen in a long time.

I had a buddy that had one on a late sixties Impala, he said they modified the car to fit the basic camper and bolted it in.

  • Pretty sure its a late 70's early 80's Caddy. Back then Chevys and Cads were similarclicky. There was a company in the 60s that converted Caddy hearses into class C type RV. My dad was interested. Big motor and beefy rear suspension. In Michigan I think. Superior.
  • I remember seeing a home made unit on a late 40's Hudson. I was walking on the shoulder, the beast leaned so badly rounding the corner I thought I was gonna die.:E
  • Years ago I remember seeing Cadillac based campers, they were made the same way, but not as nice.
I don't think I've ever seen one on a Chevy.
