My F150 had limited slip... my dually didn't. Never had any issues or problems with either. I was nervous about the open diff... but it was never a problem...
My good friend had a 05 F150 with an open diff 3.55 axle. Towed a 6,000 lb TT all over the southeast and never had a problem.
On second thought, I did have an issue with my limited slip chattering... little friction modifier fixed that.
My town car has an open diff.. never had a situation where I felt like I needed a limited slip.
I am concerned about Differential temperature. When I rig out my Town Car for towing I will add a finned differential cover for the 8.8 ford and have a boss installed in the cover for a temperature sending unit.
The fun part is going to be making a gauge pod for my Town Car's A-Pillar because such an animal doesn't exist. Probably going to be a three gauge pod... RPM, Transmission Temp, and Rear Differential Temp.
Thanks!
