Mine has the double over double. And the bathroom has it's own door as well. We love it. The bunks are roomy, and our children, and their spouses sleep there. I would caution. check the weight restriction. Our's has a 300 lb limit on the top bunk.
For us. It is a near perfect floor plan. I would also suggest. Put the one that stays the hottest on top, as there should be a AC vent there to cool them off. No AC vent in the bottom bunk. We use a fan to push air into it.
Also the bathroom door to the outside is great.
