I have to say that just because you decide to go with a pop-up over a TT. I don't believe in this upgrade-downgrade therology. Going from a tent to a pop-up, TT, Motorhome, 5'er is not in my eyes as an upgrade, or going in the other direction is either. It's but a personal choice you make on your desires and likes. With the options that are available nowadays with any unit who's to say you are not upgrading? You sound like someone who can appreciate the outdoors more and your kids will get more out of it.
