Thanks for all the info!!! I've got a great place to start!
My family includes myself, dh, and 3 teenage girls. We try not to pack too much when we camp, it's supposed to be about getting away from it all so we don't want to bring it all with us :) Usually we will be camping in established campgrounds with at least water and electric. Most of the time we camp with friends who are all still tent camping we'd want to be close to their sites.
For a family of 5 your only options are ppop-ups. There are no tt's light enough for your pilot that will accommodate 5 people that I'm aware of
If you want to camp near your tenting friends, popups are your best bet. They are easy to maneuver and get into smaller sites. You should be able to find one with the options you want and be within tow specs of your pilot.
With a 4500lb tow rating I'd be looking at popups With a GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating)...NOT DRY WEIGHT! 3600lb and UNDER.
