I doubt it will have more payload than 3/4 ton gassers. Ram 2500 gassers are near 3000lbs in CC SB/LB configurations. Only way an F150 HD can match that is a 2wd reg cab. No one buys that anyway. Adding the diesel option would bring most 3/4 tons down to or under the F150 HD.
If we're talking about the 2014 F150 then I agree with you. The 2015s shed 400-700 lbs off the current models. That number "should" get added straight to payload. That should put other cab configurations close to 3,000 lbs.
