Ordering a ROO 21SS..

To all,

Since we couldn't find a ROO dealer here (Ark.)we are thinking of ordering one from a Rockwood dealer. Does anyone know how long it takes to get from the ordering process to the ROO is on the lot? The price I got was $19,700, which seems to be a good price, I added quite a few extras. If you order a ROO from one dealer in a different state will any Rockwood dealer service any warranty issues? Wondering...

Thanks in advance,

Jim
  • Picking up the ROO (21SS) Wed. of this week.....An RV Dealer in Hot Springs ordered the one we wanted. We had to put a delay on everything because I had minor surgery for a paraThroid problem. Now that is behind us now.
I bought a 2014 Ford F150 Super Cab 4 wheel drive with ecoboost, nice truck. Should be a winner for towing......The truck has a rear view camera and I picked up a rear view wireless camera at Walmart for the TT, that should make things easier....
Will post pictures when I can...

  • Wait!

The 2015 Roos will be on the lots next month. Certainly by June or July.

RVWholesalers has one on the lot and 3 on order. And they keep them on order -- or will custom order yours. If you wait a month or two you'll get next years model (2015), not last years (2014) like they're selling in Fort Smith.

Little Rock to Lakeview OH is a long day's drive. Be sure to price there before driving over to Fort Smith. The savings may be significant.

  • We got the truck a few days ago. 2014 F150 EcoBoost 4X4 King cab, short bed and tow package....Still looking for a ROO 21SS, looks like it will end up being a dealer in OK south of Ft. Smith... He has one.

    Thanks,

    Jim
  • It has the tow package and a 6 ft. bed with the door and a half cab. Also a 4X2.
Going to seal the deal this afternoon..

    Thanks,
    Jim
  • There is no configuration of F150 EB that is going to struggle with that combo, assuming it has the tow package.

Thanks for all the advice. We did find a local dealer that will order one for us the way we want it..
The TV we settled on is a 2013 F105 that a Ford dealer has on his lot. It has an eco-boost V6 which looks like a good mate for the ROO, what are your thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Jim

just saying that it has the Ecoboost, isn't enough info on the truck.

what cab size, what bed size, what rear end ratio, 4x4 or 4x2, HD payload package or not, Max tow package or not?

not all Ecoboost are created equal.

did you try looking for a Flagstaff Shamrock dealer nearby? the Shamrock is the exact twin sister brand of the Roo.

dealers are NOT required to work on units they didn't sell. many dealers use that, as a threat to customers to make them pay way more money at their dealership.
we were told that by 3 Roo dealers but still bought from a dealer 2000 miles away.
Forest River found a number of local dealers who were more than willing to do the warranty work. one didn't even sell any FR products.

did you check out RVDirect who has pickup in Des Moines? or RVW?

    As well as Coachmen.........

  • We had a great '07 ROO for going on 8 seasons. We bought it from RVWholesalers in Lakeview, OH and saved over $4000 over the local guy. Strongly suggest you go online and take a look. They may have in stock exactly what you're after. You can also spec one out and they will give you an email price for whichever. We're in West TN and still came out that $4000 ahead after travel to pick it up. When we moved to a TT, we saved even more buying from them. You may find that the price you've been quoted is good, but at least give RVW a try. They're good folks to deal with x 2 transactions and I really feel you'll come out lots of dollars ahead. Service is not a problem.
