A lot of the places have been mentioned but can't say enough about booking a spot. We went 2 years ago in September figuring it would be quiet by then but was still a challenge for us to get 2 spots. As was said if you can go without services don't be afraid to ask as we did that a few times and got spots no problem.
Make sure you allow lots of times as there is lots to see and lots of driving too if you like to see it all and walk some of the nice beaches. We took 2 weeks on the coast and could have used another.
