We did a three week trip up and down the coast a few years ago. FWIW: We loved an hour at the Tillamook Cheese Factory whilst passing by and the ice cream and cheese we bought was a real treat. Cute little towns nice to sit and people watch for an hour here and there. One there had a wee young pup playing with a crab his owner hauled in on the dockboards that wrapped right around the quaint town (?Florence?). Mail boat ride up the Rogue River and the Sand Dune Buggy were the highlights of that part of the coast for us.
As a heads up, and I guess it depends but we felt that the Sealion Cave was for us the worst waste of our monies on that trip. State Parks if you can get in them on the coast we loved.
