The Cape Perpetua aria south of Yachats is my favorite part of the coast. Lots of trails begin at the visitor center located next to a forest service campground. Make sure you drive or hike to the lookout on top of the Cape. See where I live?
+1 on cape perpetua and that section of the coast. State Campgrounds are best... Beachside campground is north of yachats, Beverly Beach north of Newport and Beachside campground just south of newport.
There is an RV park at the Newport Marina - and they have a dry camp/boondock area that is ~$20 per night. Within stumbling distance from the rogue ale brewery. Easy walking distance to Oregon Coast Aquarium.
