ORU Foldable Kayak

Had a portaboat for years and traveled with hung on the side of my HiLo 22" trailer. Now I have a new Kodiak and dont want to mount because of slide out and door issues. Just saw the ORU KAYAK on the May 9th Shark Tank episode. A 26# folded Kayak the size of a suitcase. Fantastic, I'm buying 2! Do a google for ORU KAYAK and see what needs to be in every RV.
  • Why? When I can carry two eighteen foot long sea kayaks and my seventeen foot long canoe on my tow vehicle truck roof?

  • Let us know how you like them after you receive them, and how easy they are to set up. I saw the episode on Shark Tank, they look very cool.

DH has a bad shoulder and it's no longer easy for him to toss our yaks up on the roof of our vehicle.
  • Did you consider carrying Portabote beneath your RV. That is where I carry mine.
While they will both get you out on the water a kayak and a Porta Bote are very different.
  • ORU Kayak Website

Please note that due to the sudden increase demand, there may be a substantial wait time for delivery. New customers will receive an email within 10 days of placing an order with an approximate delivery date.
  • Nifty idea.

We got an inflatable but was disappointed in how slow it was compared to our hard-shells. Very stable though.

    Imagine this is faster.

    Keep us posted.
  • For what it is worth, Foldboat and Ally Pak have had put together canoes and kayaks for years.
We used Ally Pak canoes on a 15 day wilderness trip on the Noatak river in the Artic Circle. They break down to the size of a big back pack. they hold two people and all the gear you want to take.

    Hi hb,
Thanks for raising this topic. If you have not already purchased an ORU I encourage you to evaluate a Klepper product as a possible alternative. The Klepper boats are not cheap but they are extremely durable and come in enough different models to suit nearly everyone's boating needs. US Special Forces have used Klepper boats for insertion missions through surf zones and in riverine operations.

  • thule rack that car.

I can portage canoes, kayaks, ladders, roof storage pods, gray tanks, you name it while towing a camper.
