Ouchy Mama
Seems as though the 5 day trip in May I took to Killbear Provincial Park had some lasting effects....aside from the mental healthcare. I was bit by a Tick. It only manifested itself about 2 week...

You don't get "bit" by a tick. They latch on and don't let go until they are full of blood. They suck, they don't bite.
They will be huge if they have been sucking for a couple of days. I used to pull them off of the dogs that way. Now the dogs are on a pill that doesn't let them get fleas or ticks. Wonderful stuff, expensive though. ( I wonder often why people can't take a version of the same pill ?)
If you get the tick off of you within 24 hours you will not get Lyme disease.
I carry a tool in my pickup that helps to remove ticks. It is just kinda a bent tweezers that allows you to grab the tick by the head and pull it completely out. You sometimes get a little skin pulled out too but, that is good!
Whatever bit you it was not a tick !!! Spider maybe.
Hope you feel better. Keep us posted. And if you ever find out what got you let us know.
You should get better educated on ticks and the diseases they cause.
