Ouchy Mama

Seems as though the 5 day trip in May I took to Killbear Provincial Park had some lasting effects....aside from the mental healthcare.

I was bit by a Tick.

It only manifested itself about 2 weeks later and I thought nothing of it as I crack my shins regularly at work and have regular bruises and scabs.

THIS however was getting worse....not better with time.

I am now on antibiotics and antibiotic cream and just had a blood test for Lyme Disease....results unknown at this posting.

Aside from wearing a full body net....whadyagunnado?
  • Nasty stuff develops from the strangest sources. My Daughter got a terrible Mersa infection from a simple rock cut in the pristine Boundary Waters.

I took some time to heal.

Glad they have you on the antibiotics. There simply is no rhyme or reason to some infections, they look for an opportunity.

    Good luck.
  • Lower shin....not really a sensitive area.

I didn't notice it until I was putting on socks....about 14 days later, by my calculations.
    It was "tender".
That was day 1 of my second outing with the Porta-Nobby this year.

So....I waited until I returned....only to have to go to Montreal for 3 days. And then my daughter's convocation took a day in Toronto.

    Finally got to a Doctor.

Probably 30 days after the bite.

    And NOW it's sore.
  • Well that looks unpleasant! I hope you get good test results back!

Well you might have Nobette put a dose of Frontline just below your neck, between your shoulders. :)

  • An "Ouchy" is what I get playing with my overanxious pup. That's far more. Hopefully you will be past it soon
  • Good God! It looks like you were shot by a .45!

Wishing you the best and please get well soon!
  • I'd say your title is an understatement.....
    Get well, soon!!!

  • Other than that....the trip was great!

    Nobette on her paddle board.
