I built my own rather than use a Batwing or similar tip-up antenna. I already had a mast holder on the side of the trailer.
Has anyone added an outdoor HD TV antenna to the antenna that is on the roof from the factory? If so what did you use?
I made one of these Gray-Hoverman single arrays It is attached to a six foot mast. It picks up a better signal than the cable feed into my S&B home. I can't say enough good things about it and I built it in an afternoon.
For typical UHF television reception, the name of the game is height and sensitivity of the antenna. Aiming is also a good thing depending on how directional the antenna is.
If you look at the performance graphs, the Gray-Hoverman outperforms the best commercial antennas you can buy. - K_CharlesExplorerAll our campers came with an "HD" antenna on the roof.
