Outdoor Shower Door Flew Off
We were heading to our campsite last weekend and while driving down the interstate, I noticed something moving in my mirror. Somehow about 35 miles into the drive the outdoor shower door and opened up and then ripped off the side of the RV from the wind. The shower handle fell out and was dangling and bouncing off the road. I pulled over and unscrewed the shower hose and head and continued on my way.
1. Has anyone else had this happen? I haven't used the outdoor shower in quite some time and it's been locked with no issues the past few trips. I'm assuming may be the lock mechanism wasn't fully turned vertically and when it eventually shook loose the door couldn't handle the wind and it popped out.
2. I checked with Trekwood RV and they will sell the door only for $20 plus $10 shipping or I can go on Amazon and get the whole shower kit for $50 with Prime Shipping. Otherwise, I couldn't find someone that sold just the door. Do you think it's worth just getting the whole kit in case it needs to be replaced in the future or just get the door? Keep in mind that besides a few scuff marks the shower head and hose are fine. I'd also prefer not to break the current seal around the shower just because of a broken door. I think the cost of shipping is what really bothers me after being spoiled by Amazon.
I'm more curious overall if this has happened to others. I could chalk it up to me being stupid if I forgot to close it and it flew off, but the fact that it's been closed and locked for months has me scratching my head.
