Outdoor Shower Door Flew Off

I would ask at your local RV dealers. They may just have a spring and pin setting on a shelf somewhere.

If not, then invite your buddies over for some beers. Show them the problem and set around and brainstorm for awhile. You should be able to figure something out.

OK, so this goes into my folder for "Really, Keystone?.........Really?"

So I tried ordering a full outdoor shower unit from Amazon. The price dropped to $40 for the whole unit and came with Prime shipping, so I pulled the trigger. It turned out that the unit I bought was about a 1/4" taller than the old outdoor shower, so it proved to be useless. I am returning this one to Amazon.

Since, I didn't want to deal with trial and error of trying to get other doors that may fit, I ordered just the door from Keystone (via Trekwood.com) and it arrived today. Well, these shower doors have 2 pins at the bottom that are the hinges for the door. One is a part of the door and the other is a separate pin with a spring, so you can install the door without bending/breaking the door itself. Well apparently, when Keystone said 'door only' they really meant it. Not only do they not include the pin and spring, they don't sell it separately unless you buy the entire shower unit. That pin and spring is a pretty critical part of the whole equation. Especially considering the failure of the last pin/spring combo is what caused the original door to disappear.

So my only option now is to either steal the pin and spring from the unit I'm returning to Amazon, rig something up myself (considering using a spring from a click pen and a piece of plastic as the pin), find the pin and spring at a local RV parts store or return the door I bought at my expense (after paying $10 for shipping) and then order an entire shower unit and pay for shipping again. Trekwood said they would just ship me the pin and spring at no cost if they had it, but they didn't have any in stock.

Really, Keystone? .............Really?

I'd get the door only, rest of the stuff in there is pretty durable unless you let it freeze.

On I-5 south of Salem Oregon several years back caught up to a TT with two bikes on a bumper mounted carrier that was peeling the bumper off. Was tipped way back with the bike pedels making sparks dragging on the pavement.
I and several other drivers were honking, waving, pointing to get the driver to pull over and stop. Passed him and i guess he finally got stopped from what i could see in the mirror.

I had a fridge vent fall out and go skittering down the interstate (I-90) about 2 years ago. It had some road rash on it. I sanded it somewhat smooth and painted it with white Krylon Fusion.

I'm finally replacing it this year.

We lost the escape window somewhere south of Whitehorse on our way to Alaska. Had a plexiglass one put in till we got home 4 months later

Had a window busted by a compartment door from a trailer, The thing just flew off, caught air and smacked my windshield!
Didn't get his license number cause it scared the **** out of me and I had to pull over and remove it from the window!!
Same thing happened to me crossing the Grapevine out of Bakersfield, I was behind a van, they had a Thule storage compartment mounted on the roof,, I happened to notice the top was kinda jiggling around,, Then I saw something come out and go flying by me,, looked like a pair of pants. Said to myself, "Now there's something you just don't see everyday"!
Then I realized what was happening so I pulled into the next lane and started to slow down as the top of the compartment flew off and went about twenty feet into the air and hit another semi truck smack in his windshield, he locked up his brakes and caused a major incident all the time while these folks laundry was paying out of the top of the van and blowing all over the freeway! Other drivers were honking at them to stop but they just kept about their merry way oblivious as to what just happened!
Don't know the outcome but I sure was glad I missed that one!!
Hope they got a new top for it!!

When my trailer was new, I closed a slide when the shower door was open. It got caught by the slide and broke.

I was able to buy the whole assembly for $25 or so on eBay. I removed the door and installed it on the camper. I saved the shower hose and assembly thinking I might use it as spare parts, after two years I threw it away
