Outside kitchen door cam locks

I have an outside kitchen door with 3 cam locks. Of course the frame is not square so one end sits 1/2" higher than the other. When new after traveling one of the cam locks would pop out of the frame as the door and trailer flexed. Now i have the first 2 locks popping off the frame so the door is only being held closed by the third lock. I dont see anyway to adjust the door as it is riveted to the frame which is mounted to the opening in the camper.

What i am wondering is if i can buy longer latches for the cam locks? I cant seem to find anything via google. The only thing i find is cam locks of different lengths for thicker doors.

Thanks
Todd
  • CH751.com is an excellent place to buy RV locks and hardware from. Dealt with them once and they're very helpful. Contact them and discuss the issue you have.

Another option would be to look on the back of the door (or other compartment doors) and see if there is a label with the manufacturer's name on it then give those folks a call and see if they can tell you what can be done. I don't know how many manufacturers of RV doors there are but ours are made by Challenger Door I contacted them once and they also were very helpful.

Check the cam locks at Home Depot or Lowes. They're designed to be a universal fit so they normally come with 3 or 4 extra cams in different lengths. You may find one in there that will work for your needs.
  • Any reputable locksmith should be able to provide longer tabs for you existing locks. They come in all sorts of lengths, offsets etc.
