outside shower hose question

Its not the fitting that bust its the rubber inner hose. It splits at the fitting. Don't think the fitting material is the problem.

Your right, those hoses are crap. That being said Walmart sells them now. A new improved version. I'll keep the receipt and will just take it back when it breaks! I've had two bust on me that I TV ordered, and was only given a one time replacement. So far the new one hasn't busted on me yet. Great concept if the quality is there.

the one that I saw recently at my walmart had what appeared to be plastic fittings. I thought the "better" one had brass ones?

just bought a Watts brass pipe nipple LFA-835 1/2 in MIPx Close that can join two of the shower hoses to double the length.

When I was a TT rookie 20 years ago, I took it to the dealer for winterizing. Somehow they missed the outside shower hose, a cheap plastic, and it cracked. I just bought one off the shelf from a hardware store and replaced it. It was over 6 ft. long with coiled metal shield. The original hose was retractable into the cavity below the tub and the replacement fit in nicely.

I've seen people drive away from gas stations while the filling hose was still attached to the car.....

Hmmm, if you extend the length of the outside hose how do you store the extra hose? On both my present TT and my Lance there was just barely enough room for the hose that was standard. Not sure I'd want that flopping around as I motored down the road.

I also got a fitting and added another length of shower hose-the metal encased, but flexible kind. When not showering, I hook it up to an outside portable kitchen with sink. That way I get hot water outside for dishes, washing, etc. when stowing the hose, I just unscrew the extension and pack it separately.
