Oven Piece Broken

I can’t seem to post a pic of the piece......
But I found a thin metal rod that appears to have broken off from the top back wall of my oven. I think it’s a heating element for the top?? Does anyone know? And can I still use my oven without it? Thank you!
  • Safe. Yes. But if it's not in the right location it will affect the temps in the oven. If it's lower than it should be and you think you are baking at 350, you might actually be baking at 375-400.
  • Yes! That makes sense ... now the really stupid question....is it safe to still use the oven with out it? I might already have been lol, I only just found it while cleaning the oven.
  • My guess would be it is the temperature sensing rod. Only connects at one end and there should be some small clamps it sits in along the wall.
