  • You will need to be more specific on your TV, camper, trailer etc.. before anyone here can really offer you advice. All you're telling us is that your rig tows/hauls bad and you need help.

DO you have a DRW or SRW? What is the model of the camper? What is the weight of the camper. What is your payload of your truck? What kind of horse trailer and how much does it weigh? How are the tires? How fast are you driving?

There is literally hundreds of years experience in RV'ing on this forum but there are not any mind readers that I am aware of.
  • something is wrong.. my 99 F350 Dually didn't have overloads like the newer (05 and up) SuperDuties... and i never had an issue with sway.

You have something broke, or the trailer isn't loaded correctly. You need to check all components of the truck and trailer. Something is wrong.
  • COuld be two things. Shocks, simple answer. No sway bar, a bit more complicated. Or your springs are literally worn out! most complicated to fix.

Could also be tires are way overloaded, or you need or should have an all steel belt casing tire, like toyo's M55.

Have you ever weighed the camper? it may be way the hecko loaded more than you think, hence why you are having what I understand to be side to side movement of the camper.

you don't have the camper package on that truck :(

Does the Truck have a rear sway bar?? These are standard equipment for most Camper Packages.
Your air bags, separate fill valves, or a single valve, should be separate for better stability.

Get a sway bar if you don't have one and put a set of Bilstien shocks on it.

    Yes, please check your weights.
  • Thank u for responding I was asked for more details.I found the original owner (welder) replaced front leaf hanger in the rear lowering trk 2 inches.removed stock overload spring put on fire stone airbag.I have 90 lbs in them it is like drivingba boat at 50 mph camper is a llft 6 inch says it weight is 3650 lbs I am going to pull a 4 horse trailer approx weight loaded 11k.I am going to return to stock hanger and add hellwig spring ditch air bags and put on rancho 9000 this is my plan as well as new tires.it is a dually and I was told it can handle the load
  • I do have stock sway bar.and billsyen shocks ..shocks have min 150k on them maybe time to replace
  • Sounds like the suspension geometry may be off or as was said, something is worn out. If you could pull a similar trailer and see if you get similar sway, you can eliminate the trailer setup and narrow it down to the truck. This is assuming you have already checked the usual suspects of not having enough tongue weight or pulling with the camper nose up.

To Mrkoje, Jerem0621, and P220sigman, the OP is carrying an 11' Camper, and wants to TOW a horse trailer in addition. Currently he is getting sway as in side to side like top heavy, not tail wagging the dog.
