I have been tent camping from back in the late 50s and trailer camping since 2008. We camp at Natl Forest areas alot, many camp grounds, and a few FREE places where DISPERSED camping is allowed.
I have camped in the AZ high country, Louisianna wet country, North Texas/South OKLA wide open areas, and many off the trail places along the Blue Ridge mtns...
We have stayed at many WALMARTS, BASS PRO Shops, and various parking lots for over-nighters but always ask for permission before doing so.
Have never had any UNSAFE Conditions with other people encounters. Don't see any need to sneak in and out at my age...
For the life of me I do not understand why anyone would want to hide what they are doing camping wise.
If I was parked under a camouflage net here in Northern Neck Virginia on a creek side setup I would be turned into the local Law Enforcement in a heart beat. Would probably be classified as a homeless person. Probably shot and killed as a terrorist or a meth lab operation... My trailer would most definitely be confiscated by the Law enforcement...
Trying to hide what you are up sure would be a tell-tale sign of something illegal going on I would think...
I guess I missed that classroom training.. If I saw someone setup under a camouflage net I would probably turn them in myself...
Just some of my thoughts...
